Dr. Jan Lefkowitz

Founder/Owner

"My interest in chiropractic began with a desire to understand, improve, and naturally heal my own body after suffering various sports injuries in my youth. Chiropractic, massage, and corrective exercise have since been the source of my health, vitality, and active lifestyle—and I want to share that possibility with every patient.

We give our patients the confidence and awareness that they are very much in control of their own health and well-being. That discovery, along with our in-depth training, empowers them to become their own advocates and maintain their success for life.

Chiropractic care is about finding weak links in the body and correcting them so the body can move the way it’s meant to. With proper movement restored, healing can occur without drugs or surgery.

When patients follow our lead and utilize our training, the results can make a lasting difference. The goal is always less dependence on doctors and medications, lower healthcare costs, and a much greater quality of life!"

Dr. Jan Lefkowitz graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, with a major in Biology and a concentration in pre-medical studies. In 2001, he graduated cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College.

Dr. Lefkowitz began his career as a solo practitioner in 2001 with a conscious commitment to providing the most advanced and ethical care possible. His post-graduate studies focused on clinical rehabilitation, extremity adjusting, posture correction, nutrition, and the care of pregnant patients. His long-term vision was to build a team of truly like-minded practitioners who would combine therapeutic muscle work and corrective exercise trainings for a more comprehensive and “corrective” type of care. Body In Balance Chiropractic was founded on that philosophy in 2010.

Dr. Lefkowitz continues traveling cross country studying the very latest evidenced-based approaches from the most innovative doctors, practitioners, and thought leaders in the industry. He’s particularly passionate about developmental kinesiology and dynamic neuromuscular stabilization. This emerging field explores how faulty movement patterns developed as early as infancy can cause back pain in adulthood, and how that information can be used to correct and prevent chronic back pain.

Dr. Lefkowitz is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and the International Society of Clinical Rehab Specialists (ISCRS).
