Transforming your health is our commitment.

At BIBC, collaboration isn’t just some lofty goal—it’s our way of life. We’re family. We train together, we have meetings together, and we communicate constantly to make sure every patient is getting the best care possible.

The BIBC Difference

Every member of the BIBC staff shares our unique philosophy and passion for health and healing. We go to great lengths in our recruiting process to ensure each person you encounter has impeccable training, high-level experience, a friendly demeanor, and a commitment to delivering the exceptional level of professionalism and patient care you’ll only find here.  The result is a tightly knit team working in unison to consistently deliver an unparalleled patient experience—and we love it!

It’s really all about improving quality of life.

Our commitment to corrective care means long-term, “structural” changes to the body as opposed to merely relieving a symptom temporarily.

People are inspired and excited by the thought that there can be an actual long-term solution to these very common problems and that they can be taught and empowered to take care of their own bodies for the long-term instead of relying on more doctors and drugs.

Dr. Jan Lefkowitz – Bio

My interest in chiropractic began with a desire to understand, improve, and naturally heal my own body after suffering various sports injuries in my youth. Chiropractic, massage, and corrective exercise have since been the source of my health, vitality, and active lifestyle—and I want to share that possibility with every patient.

We give our patients the confidence and awareness that they are very much in control of their own health and well-being. That discovery, along with our in-depth training, empowers them to become their own advocates and maintain their success for life.

Chiropractic care is about finding weak links in the body and correcting them so the body can move the way it’s meant to. With proper movement restored, healing can occur without drugs or surgery. When patients follow our lead and utilize our training, the results can make a lasting difference. The goal is always less dependence on doctors and medications, lower healthcare costs, and a much greater quality of life!

Dr. Jan Lefkowitz graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, with a major in Biology and a concentration in pre-medical studies. In 2001, he graduated cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College.

Dr. Lefkowitz began his career as a solo practitioner in 2001 with a conscious commitment to providing the most advanced and ethical care possible. His post-graduate studies focused on clinical rehabilitation, extremity adjusting, posture correction, nutrition, and the care of pregnant patients. His long-term vision was to build a team of truly like-minded practitioners who would combine therapeutic muscle work and corrective exercise training for a more comprehensive and “corrective” type of care. Body In Balance Chiropractic was founded on that philosophy in 2010.

Dr. Lefkowitz continues traveling cross country studying the very latest evidenced-based approaches from the most innovative doctors, practitioners, and thought leaders in the industry. He’s particularly passionate about developmental kinesiology and dynamic neuromuscular stabilization. This emerging field explores how faulty movement patterns developed as early as infancy can cause back pain in adulthood, and how that information can be used to correct and prevent chronic back pain.

Dr. Lefkowitz is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and the International Society of Clinical Rehab Specialists (ISCRS)

Dr. Karin Neuhaus – Bio

My mission is to provide personalized, quality chiropractic care with an emphasis on preventative measures and patient education. I strive to give patients a more fulfilled and enjoyable quality of life by educating them about holistic wellness—chiropractic care, healthy lifestyle choices, and the active preservation and restoration of their own health.

Chiropractic addresses the body’s ability to heal itself without the use of surgery or medication. We address the biomechanics, structure, and function of the spine and its effects on the musculoskeletal and nervous system, with the goal of keeping all of these systems functioning together optimally.

The compounded effects of life’s daily stressors on the human body are far greater than most people realize. That’s why we treat the “whole person” and not just active symptoms. With that mantra, our patients regain and maintain their health.

Dr. Karin Neuhaus graduated with honors from Plattsburgh State University in 2002, where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree with a focus on Biology and pre-medical studies. She then earned her doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, where she graduated with honors in March of 2006.

In her ten years of practice, Dr. Neuhaus has developed a heightened ability to quickly and accurately pinpoint a patient’s problem area. Exposure to countless spinal and joint injuries, as well as various preventative and corrective care programs, has enabled her to trace most everyday aches and pains to joint dysfunction and postural imbalances.

She uses a variety of techniques—diversified manipulative, activator methods, Charette extremity adjusting, soft tissue techniques, and therapeutic exercise rehabilitation (including functional and corrective exercises)—to resolve pain, restore proper functionality, and train patients to maintain those adjustments on their own.

Dr. Neuhaus is an active member of the International Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractors Association Council on Wellness Science

Dr. Diana Salazar – Bio

Experiencing life to the deepest extent is about more than getting rid of pain. It’s about feeling like yourself and having the ability to do what brings happiness into your daily life.  That is why it’s my mission as a Chiropractor for each person to feel empowered so that they can be able to say “yes” to all of the things that they enjoy.

When your body feels great it makes such a difference. You have enough energy to play with your kids, you’re in a great mood so that you want to meet with your friends and it allows you to feel comfortable throughout your work day. Whatever your goals are, that’s what we will work towards together.

I’m inspired each time my patients return to activities that they love. Whether it’s pilates, weight lifting, cycling or running. By increasing mobility, stability and decreasing pain, they can say “yes” to things they never imagined they could do.

Each section of the body doesn’t stand alone. Therefore it’s critical to take a global look at the muscular kinetic chains at  play throughout the entire body. With the combination of Chiropractic care and postural work, we can observe your body as a whole and be able to treat the root cause of the problem.

I became a Chiropractor because I love the holistic, effective and unique approach to health. With the understanding of biomechanics and anatomical alignment, we’re able to create substantial relief in symptoms and create a better mind-body connection. In my own life, I’ve noticed how impactful getting adjusted and proper alignment is. It’s the reason it brings me such happiness to be a Doctor of Chiropractic and walk side by side with my patients towards their goals.

Dr. Diana Salazar graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelors of Arts with a focus in Art History and a minor in Biology. In 2017, she earned her Doctorate from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. During her time there, she worked with Division 1 college athletes ranging from gymnasts, up to 7’1’’ basketball players as well as CrossFit athletes. She is proficient on RockTape, Graston myofascial tools and Active Release Technique, Activator, SOT, drop table and McKenzie protocol.

Dr. Salazar has a different perspective when looking at the body. Her background in competitive salsa dance and Mixed Martial Arts has allowed her to understand kinetic movement in a greater capacity and she is passionate about helping others fulfill their goals. She practices Diversified technique and NET. Dr. Salazar has done intensive seminar work with Kairos Training Culture and Bio-Geometric Integration. She is trilingual; is fluent in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.

Dr. Sam Lobell – Bio

Dr. Sam is a New York native and NYC based chiropractor who treats patients with various musculoskeletal conditions. After graduating undergrad with high honors from Queens College, CUNY he went on to pursue his doctorate degree in chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College where he was inducted into the Phi Chi Omega International Chiropractic Honor Society.

Dr. Lobell went on to study and work at the VA medical hospital in Bath, NY and alongside a chiropractic neurologist during an honors internship in Lindenhurst, NY where he gained experience treating patients with a wide variety of conditions.

Dr. Lobell went on to further his education by completing various courses enabling him to provide the best possible care to his patients including Graston technique, ConnecTX, FMT performance and Rocktape, Webster technique and DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization).

Dr. Lobell uses various modalities in treating his patients including Diversified technique chiropractic adjustments, Cox Flexion/Distraction, drop table, SOT blocking, trigger point therapy, rehab exercises, and cold laser therapy.
His passion and interest in chiropractic first began at a young age after he was treated by one of the local chiropractors where he grew up. After later experiencing an injury and seeking out medical care, did Dr. Lobell start to delve further into natural / alternative approaches to dealing with pain and solving the root cause of the issue. He felt that the best way to deal with pain is to solve the cause of it when possible as opposed to masking the symptoms with over the counter medications. This began Dr. Lobell’s journey into chiropractic and natural medicine.

Dr. Lobell hopes that he could instill the same appreciation of the chiropractic art into his patients by helping them to achieve pain free and healthier lives.

When away from the office, Dr. Lobell loves to take his dog on walks along the Hudson River, cycling the boardwalk in his native Long Beach, NY, and checking out various art scenes in the city.
